cheerbleederz:

Tender, fastidiously-crafted indie...feels like Phoebe Bridgers, but a little more hoppy” - Get Alternative

Debut Album 'even in jest' released Summer 2022 on Alcopop! Records.

Lead single ‘cute as hell’—a fizzing anthem dedicated to those thirsty early stages of a new crush, perfectly timed for Valentine’s Day—was released in February 2022 and picked up support from Brooklyn Vegan, UPSET, GIGWISE, DORK, Noizze, The Punk Site and more.

"cheerbleederz are a vision of mutual respect, support and friendship" - Girl Gang Leeds

With early live appearances at Manchester Punk Festival and Switzerland’s inhumano Fest, alongside tours with contemporaries The Winter Passing, flirting. and ME REX already notched up, the band drew early praise from the likes of DORK, UPSET, CLASH, BBC Introducing, God Is In The TV Zine, Loud Women, Already Heard, For The Rabbits, Austin Town Hall, and a host of underground blogs and zines.

“A perfect amalgam of punkier and poppier moments” - For The Rabbits

Already boasting a fine pedigree of lo-fi underground hits between their individual members’ various bands (Fresh, ME REX, and Finish Flag), with their new project the trio have hit upon an instantly infectious brand of no-frills, melody-driven punk. Taking influence from the likes of The Breeders, Snail Mail, Hop Along, Alvvays, Charly Bliss and Cayetana, their songs touch thoughtfully on the lived experiences of women and marginalised people.

“Our new favourite band” - LOUD WOMEN

ME REX:

South London’s ME REX began life in 2018 in the home of songwriter Myles McCabe experimenting with shouty, electronic bedroom pop. Equipped with multitudes of “surging gargantuan hooks” and themes of friendship, forgiveness, joy and dinosaurs, McCabe was quickly joined by longtime friends Kathryn Woods (guitar/vocals), Phoebe Cross (drums/vocals) and Rich Mandell (bass/keys/vocals).

Riding high off the release of their debut album ‘Megabear’: a record built from 52 short tracks intended to be played in shuffle mode in order for the listener to create their own perfect combination of songs — ME REX are returning to the traditional sense of song structures with new EP ‘Pterodactyl’. A collection of songs that showcase what the collective do best, primarily constructing delicate threads of vocal layering with clever tongue in cheek lyricism that roll off Myles’ tongue with a poetical prowess, ME REX hone in on different uses of dynamism with their new effort, building luscious swathes of guitars and keys to build a bridge between their raw DIY past and a bright, creative future.

ARMS & HEARTS:

"Home is wherever you happen to be"

is more than a lyric for Arms & Hearts — a.k.a. Steve Millar — it's almost a mantra at this point. When he sings it, and crowds sing it back at him, the truth in the phrase is clear to see.

The heavy-touring singer/songwriter combines the storytelling and work rate of a classic troubadour and the heart on his sleeve punk rock passion, asserting themselves as one of the most prominent figures in the UK's underground / DIY music scenes through sheer hard work and persistence.
